Nicole Reed Fry is a Director in the Energy, Sustainability, and Infrastructure segment of Guidehouse, focusing on strategy, planning, and evaluation for energy efficiency demand side management and distributed energy resources. Nicole works with government, utility, and private sector clients, leading projects related to market transformation, impact and process evaluation, customer engagement, energy efficiency financing, and market strategy.
Nicole began her career as a project engineer conducting renewable energy strategic planning, market and policy analysis, and education and workforce development initiatives for the Geothermal Technologies Program in the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). She then completed a one-year assignment as the Deputy Associate Director of Energy Efficiency at the White House Council on Environmental Quality. Building on her energy efficiency policy experience, she returned to the DOE to support state and local governments and nonprofits managing large federal grants for innovation in residential energy efficiency. She also has previous experiences with the West Penn Power Sustainable Energy Fund, SkyFuel, and ExxonMobil.
Nicole has a MS in Energy and Geo-Environmental Engineering and a BS in Environmental Systems Engineering from Penn State. She also has an MBA from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is a lifetime member of the Penn State Alumni Association.
