The challenges of spring 2020 left many of our students with cancelled internships and job offers. In response, with the help of donors and industry friends, the department was able to create 26 paid summer internship positions working on research projects with EME faculty members. The final component of those EME Summer Research Internships is a poster and accompanying five-minute lightning talk.
Following please find the accumulated effort of a dedicated cadre of students who worked remotely on projects from electrical grid failure to rare earth minerals to optimal hydrocarbon reservoir development to ground water contaminants. We are proud of their efforts and their ability to switch gears in the face of adversity and find new avenues for success.
